Social Skills Groups for children - Chicago IL

Does your child have difficulties with social skills including interactions with peers at school, making and maintaining friends, and successfully participating in play groups?  If so, Oak Tree Developmental Center can help. A social skills group helps children to learn and practice important life skills. Social skills groups help children develop skills such as:

  • Communicating appropriately with adults and peers

  • Emotional processing skills

  • Flexibility

  • Conflict resolution

  • Making and maintaining friends

  • Ability to successful participate in various groups

These valuable skills help children successfully navigate the social demands at home and at school.  These important skills will allow your child to have positive experiences in their community. Groups are led by a clinical social worker.
